Nan Hunter (Moderator)

Nan Hunter is a Professor at the Georgetown University Law Center. She also serves as Legal Scholarship Director with the Williams Institute for Sexual Orientation Law and Policy at UCLA Law School .

Chris Anders (Panelist)

Chris Anders is Senior Legislative Counsel in the Washington Legislative Office of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Anders has lobbied on federal civil rights and civil liberties legislation and regulations affecting the LGBT community and persons with HIV-AIDS.

Chai Feldblum (Panelist)

Chai Feldblum is a Professor at Georgetown University Law Center, where she directs the Federal Legislation and Administrative Clinic. Feldblum, a graduate of Harvard Law School , was among the lead lawyers who drafted the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Hayley Gorenberg (Panelist)

Hayley Gorenberg is the Deputy Legal Director for Lambda Legal. Gorenberg served as Coordinating Attorney for HIV Advocacy at the Legal Support Unit of Legal Services for New York City .

Tobias Wolff (Panelist)

Tobias Wolff is a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a civil rights lawyer. He served as the chief advisor and spokesperson on LGBT issues for Barack Obama during his presidential campaign.

May 3, 2009 - NATIONAL EQUALITY RALLY AT INDEPENDENCE HALL

On May 3, 2009, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Americans, together with straight allies will March for Equality on Independence Mall in front of Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell Center and the Gay Pioneers Historic Marker. Join this historic event. The National Equality Rally begins at 3 p.m.

Join organizations, grassroots activists and straight allies from across the nation as we demonstrate at Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell—the site where the Gay Pioneers launched our movement with protests each Fourth of July from 1965 to 1969.

Call on Congress and our new president for:

Passage of trans-inclusive hate crimes legislation and Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)
Repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA)
Support for GLBT health issues
Equal benefits for same-sex families
Same-sex marriage Equality
